How we feel, what we think, and how we act are all connected and influenced by the world around us. Our relationships, occupation, environment, culture, and lifestyle choices impact how we live our lives. We experience a lot of pressure from work, friends, family, school, and social media to be the best and stay ahead of our peers. We may feel “stuck” in our current state or feel “less than” when comparing ourselves to others. This stress can lead to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, low self-esteem, and other unhealthy attempts to cope. Whether you’re seeking relief from uncomfortable emotions or striving toward a more rewarding future, therapy can be a beneficial outlet for addressing and improving your mental health.
I strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment where clients feel safe, comfortable, and accepted. I utilize a holistic approach to therapy by exploring each client’s individual experiences and their reactions to external factors. We’ll address how you’re feeling now, explore worries about the future, and process events of the past to help you feel more balanced in the present. This holistic approach may also include investigating your physical health, nutrition, activity level, and other components of you lifestyle.
Therapy is ultimately a collaborative process; we’ll work together to discover the most effective and beneficial approach for your individualized care. I collaborate with clients to tailor their sessions based on their needs, feedback, and goals. My training and experiences focus primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other solution-focused models, and I frequently incorporate mindfulness training into sessions. My education is specialized in Sport, Performance, and Health Psychology, which focuses on healthy lifestyles, athletic performance, goal achievement, teamwork and collaboration, recovery from injury or surgery, and mental toughness. These insights and techniques are powerfully applied to people from all walks of life, including students, athletes, recent grads, professionals, and creatives.
Your goals are within reach, you may just need an extra push to grasp them. The light at the end of the tunnel may seem dim, but it is still there. Change is a process, but it’s possible!

Julia is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and she grew up in the surrounding areas. She graduated in 2014 from Adrian College in Adrian, MI with a B.S. in Psychology and a Minor in Chemistry. After college, she moved to Chicago, IL to attend graduate school in the city. She received her Masters in Counseling with a specialization in Sport and Health Psychology from Adler University in 2016. She has experience working as a Sport and Health Psychology consultant for adult and adolescent athletes, as well as clinical experience working at a mental health hospital and providing phone counseling.
- I love to travel! My family is spread across Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Virginia but I try to visit them as frequently as I can. In the past 4 years, I’ve travelled to Turkey, Mexico, Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium, and Alberta. My favorite trip so far was hiking the Canadian Rockies in Jasper National Park!
- I enjoy live music and watching artists perform at shows and festivals. My friends like to joke that I never stop dancing, and they’re not wrong!
