  • There is no right or wrong way to “do therapy”, although you’ll get more value out of it by being honest about your experiences, questions, and feedback. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your therapist’s overall aim is to help you gain greater insight, skills, and power in your life.

See our blog post, “How to do Therapy” for more tips on navigating your first session and sessions thereafter!

  • Therapy can help with a wide range of personal and relationship challenges. We specialize in working with individuals and couples, teens and adults, navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, perfectionism, life adjustments, grief, communication breakdowns, family dynamics, dating, conflict, stress, neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD), anxiety, trauma, and emotional regulation. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by daily life, struggling in your relationships, or looking for tools to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a supportive space for healing and growth.

  • Therapy is for anyone looking to improve their mental and emotional well-being. You don’t need to be in a crisis to benefit from it. If you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or overwhelmed, talking to a therapist can bring clarity. We offer an initial consultation to explore whether therapy might be a good fit for you.

  • During the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. We’ll ask questions to understand your concerns, goals, and personal history. It’s a relaxed, conversational session meant to help you feel comfortable. We’ll also explain how therapy works and what you can expect moving forward. By the end, you should have a clearer sense of the path ahead.

  • Yes! We offer both in-person sessions for those who prefer a face-to-face experience and online therapy for those who find it more convenient. Our office is located in downtown Chicago, and clients can be seen in person during the weekday, evenings, and weekends. Virtual sessions are great for busy schedules, remote clients, or anyone who feels more comfortable in their own space. Both formats provide the same level of support and confidentiality.

  • Finding the right therapist is essential for a successful experience. In your first session, you and your therapist will discuss your goals, challenges, and what you’re hoping to achieve in therapy. This will help determine if our approach aligns with your needs. If you ever feel that it’s not the right fit, we’ll gladly help you find someone who might be better suited. It’s important that you feel comfortable and supported.

  • The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the issues you want to address. Some clients come in for short-term, solution-focused therapy, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll discuss your needs during our first session and regularly assess your progress to ensure therapy is moving at a pace that feels right for you.

  • We take a strengths-based, compassionate approach when working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and ASD. We focus on creating an environment where you feel understood and respected. Together, we’ll work on building practical skills for communication, organization, and emotional regulation, while addressing any underlying challenges. Our methods are tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.

  • It’s common for one partner to feel hesitant about couples therapy. A good approach is to present it as an opportunity to strengthen your relationship, rather than "fix" a problem. Emphasize that therapy provides a neutral, safe space where both of you can feel heard. You can also suggest attending just one session to see how it feels—there’s no pressure to commit to long-term therapy if it doesn’t seem helpful.

We’re committed to making sure your therapy experience at NVision You is a collaborative one in which you feel heard and supported. And we welcome your questions and feedback at any time during your journey with us.
